Day 2 - An action packed day today in the heart of Tassie’s wild West Coast. The beautiful fishing town of Strahan is our first stop - an opportunity to immerse yourself in the history of what was once one of the most remote outposts of the British Empire. Just north of here are the massive Henty Dunes - climb to the top for a wonderful view across the Southern Ocean, or if you’re game you can even race along the top on a quad bike! Below lies Ocean Beach,  Tasmania’s longest. The waves crashing on this beach last touched land thousands of kilometres away across the ocean in South America.

Going north again and we’re headed for the track to Montezuma Falls - at 104m, it’s Tasmania’s highest waterfall. The track winds its way through lush green temperate rainforest, following the route of an old mining tramway - so no steep parts!

Day 1 - You’ve made it, you’ve Jumped onboard, so kick back and relax as we sweep north out of Hobart through the hop-growing region of the Derwent Valley. Going west we enter one of the world’s last great temperate rainforests at Mount Field National Park. The park is home to beautiful Russell Falls and the incredible eucalytus regnans, which at almost 100 metres in height are the tallest hardwood trees in the world!

Continuing north we visit the former hydro-electric settlement of Tarraleah, with it’s wonderful lookout perched atop Tasmania’s Central Plateau. Shortly afterwards we reach the famous Lake St Clair, on the eastern edge of Tasmania’s World Heritage Wilderness Area. Soak in the scenery and enjoy the peacefulness of lunch by the lake side.

From here it’s perhaps the most beautiful drive of the trip as we wind our way along the Lyell Highway - the only major road through the World Heritage Area. Along the way we stop at the iconic Franklin River, its waters as turbulent as the dramatic battle to save it from being dammed twenty five years ago. Further on there are spectacular 360 degree views after a short walk to the top of Donaghy’s Hill.

Day 3 - This morning the highlights keep coming with the stunning Cradle Mountain our first stop. It’s Tasmania’s most popular national park and has a number of walking options, from the easy jaunt around Dove Lake to the spectacular hike to the top of Marion’s Lookout - don’t forget to watch for the wombats, wallabies and Tasmanian devils that thrive in this part of the world!

Driving east, we skirt along the edge of the majestic range known as the Great Western Tiers. It’s time to tantalise the taste buds - there are over 50 different honey’s to try at the Chudleigh Honey Farm! Stay gourmet as we cruise along to 41 Degrees South Aquaculture and try their delicious hot smoked salmon.

Enjoyed the appetisers? It’s time for lunch nearby at the historic town of Deloraine, a historic town with a thriving arts community.

In the afternoon we reach Tasmania’s second largest city - Launceston. A wide range of attractions are within walking distance including the natural wonder of the Cataract Gorge and the Japanese Macaque monkeys in City Park.
